Description

The full deck of Major & Minor Arcana is available now for the first time together. Previously released only as a Major Arcana set, the language of these cards has been deepened through both personal and group ritual.  Potentised as a collection of servitors who inhabit a chthonic ritualised space, you will find that the voices of the Major Arcana are strong and insistent. In turn, The Minor Arcana are presented as traditional french suits of hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades and give immediate and direct clarification of matters at hand.

I offer this first edition, limited to 200 copies in premium quality, linen embossed, playing  card stock printed at  70mm x 120mm – perfect for daily divination and all manner of cartomantic magics.

About the tarot deck

The Blood & Ink Tarot  is a channelled deck, you could say a collaboration between myself and an Unseen who worked through me, fiercely and rapidly over the course of a single weekend just after Imbolc 2020. The wheel has now gone full circle. and it is time to release the deck into the world.

This is a tarot deck that wants to be used for sorcery and things that may only be done under cover of darkness. It’s images are  bright, fluid, textured and immediately striking. They will get into your dreams and under your skin.

The hand that guided my own in the creation of this deck included various potent materia magicae in the print making process: mugwort, whiskey, graveyard dirt, hagstones, amanita muscaria, blood ink, wormwood, myrrh resin, valerian root, iron nails, snake bones, snake shed.

You start to get the idea.

I talk more about the process behind the deck on SpiritBox with Darragh Mason Field here.

Blood & Ink is a truly transformative deck unlike any I have encountered before, I say this as someone who has read Tarot for many years and I cannot praise this deck highly enough. What makes Blood & Ink so special is the absolute style that went into its creation, the forms are familiar but deconstructed in such a way as to allow ample room for the reader’s intuition. This is a truly magical deck that is well worth the cost, it is also beautifully constructed and feels amazing.

  2. Karen Taylor (verified owner)

This is such a beautiful deck and really can be accessed very intuitively. The fact that it is limited and consecrated makes it even more special. I definitely can feel the magic in it ❤️🖤

Blood and Ink Tarot not only is it beautifully created with powerful magical powers, it is also easy to handle and shuffle Each card has its own powerful way of revealing its story to the reader. I’m very please with my deck on many levels and would recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a special deck that will fulfil all your magical readings

This deck is alive. It’s also beautifully produced, with all of what that means – the crisp print and exquisite color reproduction, the amazing texture of the paper, the packaging – but more importantly is that it is alive. Elise provides instructions for a simple ritual to connect to the deck, and once you’ve performed it, you have a whole new spirit ally in your court. Mine has helped me find and solve issues that deeply experienced practitioners haven’t been able to catch. It’s helped me help others unlock serious and complicated situations. It’s helping me open up my vision more and more, each time I use it. This is not just a pack of cards like any other. Elise is magic, and so is the Blood & Ink tarot.

I’ll repeat that this deck is alive. I’ve been working with this as a part of my personal practice and I value the presence and the insight I’ve gained from the readings. My personal journey has been enhanced working with this deck.

The Blood and Ink Tarot is not like any other Tarot deck you will work with. For a start, it is bonded with you uniquely by name, one known only to you and the deck’s creator, Elise. From that intimate starting point the conversations that flow from it are deep and profoundly magical. It is a witches deck par excellence, a divination tool of conscious intelligence, a thing of beauty and a personal familiar for life. I am blessed to have mine as an ally and cannot recommend this deck highly enough!

Deep Inspired Magic flows through the center of each card, connected by both blood and ink. The cards sing and chatter and are ready to work straight from the box. I use these cards in my most magical and felt rituals and for personal work. It’s an honor to work with these cards.

Elise’s creation carries oracular power of immense depth and razor sharpness.
The energy is palpable and direct , opening up the intuition with clarity and inspiration.
A Tarot deck like no other.

  9. Stephen MacNaughton (verified owner)

Definitely alive, as others cannot ignore either! Working closely with these cards in ongoing magical experiments, courtesy of Elise, reveals the true depth of connection you establish when taking ownership of these cards. Life-changing and powerful work is possible here, not to mention the cutting and direct nature of divination with what is a difficult deck to switch out from as a result.
    Thank you!

Elise has created something genuinely innovative and rare in the Blood and Ink Tarot. The deck has sufficient of the bone structure of the Marseille trumps and playing card pips to be read in a conventional way but rendered in an impressionistic manner that allows lots of space to scry with the cards and to make your own connections. The pips are particularly lively and suggestive. It’s a glorious deck for divination as well as being deeply infused with its own magic and the perfect deck for ritual work.

  11. Ian Khoo (verified owner)

While this deck clearly has its roots in the TDM Tradition, I love how the pips celebrate the association between Tarot and Playing cards with clear references to the suits that we are all familiar with. Regular use of this deck has ignited a deep love for playing cards, just as I find it a joy to use this deck the way French Tarot Schools would – reading the Trumps for an overview and the Pips to draw more information. This has helped to reconcile the reading of playing cards I once found daunting, as this deck marries two cartomantic traditions as one.

But beyond how the Blood & Ink has spurred me towards a French approach to Tarot reading, it is apt to refer to the deck as a “Cthonic Rorschach”. I have had many beautiful encounters where the artistic imageries of the Blood & Ink lead to a myriad of possibilities as you go about your reading, where context and the question takes the lead. Fixed or standard imageries blur, where shapes, lines and contrasting colours flex the mind to consider various permutations to reading a question.

If you would like to challenge the mind to let go of fixed meanings and let yourself dance with the cards, I cannot think of a better deck with images to facilitate reading coherently.

I do like the way you have framed this challenge plus it does present us some fodder for consideration. Nevertheless, from just what I have observed, I simply wish when the responses stack on that people stay on point and don’t start upon a soap box regarding the news du jour. Anyway, thank you for this superb piece and even though I do not agree with it in totality, I value your viewpoint.
